What Is a Guillotine Cutting Machine? Working Principle and Applications
A guillotine cutting machine reduces textile, fibre and suitable plastic waste to controlled lengths for the next process. Consistent feeding and the action between a moving and a fixed knife turn irregular production waste into a manageable input.
Cut size affects opening, shredding, blending and raw-material preparation. Machine selection should therefore consider the material and the complete line, not motor power alone.
How does the cutting system work?
A conveyor carries material to the cutting mouth. Feed rate and cutting cycle define the resulting length. The moving knife works against the fixed knife through an eccentric drive, after which the material moves to the next stage.
On the MCT60, cutting length is controlled from a 10-inch screen. Its 600 mm working width, 130 / 185 / 250 cuts/min cutting speed and 5–360 mm cutting range support different production recipes.
Typical materials
Suitability depends on thickness, fibre structure, density, moisture and contamination. Polyester fabric, nylon waste, acrylic fibre, nonwoven fabric, cord yarn waste, carpet yarn waste and approved plastic inputs are common applications.

What determines line efficiency?
Stable feeding, sharp knives, correct settings and planned maintenance work together. Irregular loads cause capacity fluctuations, while a worn edge may pull fibres instead of cutting cleanly.
